Brydge is situated in a beautifully repurposed Victorian era home and serves delicious Central Coast inspired dishes. Each time we go to Brydge we are thrilled by both the food and the service. We typically enjoy several small plates and the local wines. The olive oil potatoes, ahi dishes and dark chocolate salted pudding are some of our favorites!

French Inspired Foods, Excellent Wine Selections, Attentive Service, Perfect for a Date Night. We recently enjoyed the Autumn Salad, Duck Breast and Filet Mignon at Madeline's for dinner. The service and the food were both excellent.
Robin's Restaurant - Cambria
Robin's stunning garden is reason enough to go to Robin's. We have been loving the Robin's Chow, Ahi Nachos and Risotto. Robin's always has several GF and vegetarian options. This is a local favorite, especially for outdoor dining.

Sebastian's is great to pair with a trip to Hearst Castle, Ragged Point and/or an oceanfront wine tasting at Hearst Ranch. This is a casual and delicious stop. We love to eat a Californian Sandwich and then go for a long walk or a wine tasting.

The Wedgewood Ocean Access-Way
A 0.4 mi walk from the cottage: This is a great place to watch the sea, take photos + explore the rocky beach (when tides are low). You are just 1/2 block away from Fiscalini Preserve and can hop on the Ocean Bluff Trail next if you want a longer walk.

Lampton Cliffs Park
Another great spot for taking in the sunset views and watching for whales. Gorgeous sunsets, whales or dolphins will draw neighbors and tourists alike to this Marine Terrace Neighborhood Park. It is about 4 blocks from the Cottage.
Moonstone Beach
Classic Cambria Walk along the sea, near the Hotel Row. If you are a seafood lover, stop for dinner at the Sea Chest Oyster Bar. It is a 7-8 min drive around the Preserve or a 2.5 mile walk to get to Moonstone Beach walking through the preserve.

Tablas Creek Vineyard
Take the picturesque drive on Highway 46 and then up on Vineyard Road to Tablas Creek Vineyard. This certified regenerative organic vineyard is a worth adding to the itinerary. Reservations needed for peak season, walk-ins often available, too.
The outdoor seating is a treat. No food options at this time. Consider following a tasting at Tablas Creek with a meal at Il Cortile in Paso Robles. Our current favorites are the 2023 Panoplie and the 2023 Espirit de Tablas Blanc.

Stunning ocean views and all new food options. Bring layers, sunglasses and your camera because you'll want to be ready for the whole right on the sea experience.
Reservations are required. Great to pair with Hearst Castle Tour or as your early afternoon stop after exploring Big Sur. In our opinion, the wines here are okay, but the views and beach walk are exceptional.

Hiking, Scenic Drives + More
Ragged Point in Big Sur
This is about a 30 min scenic drive up the coast on Hwy 1.
Beaches, mountains, rolling hills, dramatic coastal bluffs. This drive has it all.
The cute coffee and pastry shop at Ragged Point is a nice break to stretch your legs and take in the Big Sur Views. Explore Ragged Point and continue on toward Salmon Creek or Gorda or head back and swing by Piedras Blancas, Hearst Ranch Wine Tasting or a Hearst Castle Tour on your way back. It is not uncommon to see deer, elk, cows and even the infamous Hearst Zebras while on this drive up the coast.

Nepenthe + The Phoenix Shop in Big Sur
Breathtaking views, unique dining + shopping experience
Gorgeous Day Trip Drive up Hwy 1 from the cottage. . The drive from the cottage up to Nepenthe is usually about 90 minutes, not including stops.
Local Tip-Stop at Ragged Point for a Latte on your drive up. If possible, get up to Nepenthe at or before 10:30am, as parking can be hard to find as the day progresses.
